Learning how to inline skate on your own can be difficult. Finding the information on the internet can be frustrating. Hiring a certified instructor can be costly. I have provided an alternative, an inline skating lesson that you can purchase for only $12.97.

We all know that their is endless information on the internet. But we also know that we don’t always have the time to find that information and sometimes when we do, its bits and pieces and we have to keep searching.

Well look no more for information on learning how to inline skate. Roller blading has been my passion for years and I decided to get certified so I could improve my skills. Then I decided to mesh my roller blading with my video making experience and provide, to people who want to learn how to inline skate, an actual inline skating lesson that can be purchased and downloaded.

I am really excited about this lesson because I cover so much information that I know will help a beginner to understand what they need to do and how to do it to have fun roller blading. For most people, and like mostly everything in life, there is a learning curve. My video will show you what you need to know before you get on the concrete and provide practice lessons that will take the guess work out of learning on your own. Check out my youtube video that explains everything that I will cover.

I would like to clarify that this video was not done by a profession film maker. There are a lot of reasons I decided to do this video myself but the best reason is cost. I wanted to provide a reasonably priced video that can help people. If I had a professional create this video, the current cost of $12.97 would be more like $29.99. The content would be the same, just the quality of the video would be better. I hope that this video will do well and I will be able to do the next one with a professional at the same price I have done this one. But until then, we just have to work with what we have and I hope people appreciate the content enough to overlook the fact that it is not professionally done. The reality is that this video is less than half the price of what I charge for a personal lesson for one hour. By purchasing the video, you get the opportunity to work with it and do the practices that I show you on your own time, leaving you with a video that might take someone hours to do with me. This video actually saves the purchaser time and money. So if you are looking for help to learn how to roller blade, buy the video. You won’t be disappointed. Check out the comments that I received on the Youtube video.

Using Inline Skates as an alternative summer sport for snow birds who can't go skiing. You can use the same moves on skates that you do when skiing.

Do you love to go snow skiing? I do too. But I also love sunshine sports, specifically inline (rollerblading) skating, and roller skating. Hi, I’ m Donna Webber and I wanted to show you snow birds that there is an alternative sport that will help keep your legs and your skiing form in shape until the next skiing season arrives. Inline skating is a great way to exercise the same muscles that you use for snow skiing because you can perform the same movements you use to ski on your blades. The ride might feel different, but the movement will be very familiar. Yes, there will be a learning curve but for most people, the adjustment will probably be quick because you already have balance and you are already used to bending your knees and keeping your chin up. You can also pretend you have poles in your hand and keep the same movement for balance as well. There is one big issue that you will have to overcome and that is how to stop. But just like skiing, practice makes perfect. You will probably not like the safety gear that you really should wear but you will get used to it just as you do the bulky clothes necessary to keep you warm. But, since you are an outdoors man (so to speak), you will appreciate the benefits skating has to offer like being in the sun, lighter clothes, movement under your feet, using the skate edges to do fun moves, and being able to skate in the streets or on the sidewalks. So check it out and consider inline skating as an alternative for the summer. In Line Skating Using Skiing Movement.

A new and exciting venture into the world of horses.

It is amazing how life provides twists and turns. I was a 9 to 5er most of my life and since I lost my last real job in February 2008, I have been working very hard to create a home based business. Although I enjoy being involved in this website and skating, I have yet to generate enough money to sustain me financially. So I kept asking God to help me understand where I am going and help me get there. I think he has sent me the answer. I have partnered with my sister to apply all the information I have acquired over the past 2 years to help her with her dream. We have launched a website, www.bevshorseadvice.com, to provide information and homeopathic products to people around the world who need excellent horse advice. The reason I think I have finally found my direction is because we actually have a product to sell and over 40 years of experience and knowledge to share. I say we, but it is really my sister, Beverly Jansen, who will be providing the information and I will be the bus that gets it out there. It really is funny how things work out. I have always been a person that believes that everything happens for a reason. And I knew that my past 2 years were building blocks to something special. Now I know what it is and I am moving full speed ahead.

So, if any of my viewers also happen to be horse owners or thinking about becoming a horse owner, then make sure you check out our new website and stay tuned as we will be launching a new product by June 2010 called Bev’s Fastest Wound Healer for horses. It is like no other product out there to help horse wounds heal rapidly. So, for me, it is time to get on the saddle and take a ride! :-)

This doesn’t mean that I won’t be doing more videos and posts. I have some surprises of my own coming down the pike so stay tuned. I know that some people may think that since I am over 50 that I am “Over the Hill”. I like to think that I just went over a bump in the road and I have a long way to go, and now friends and family to help me get there.

Skorpion Quadline Urban Street Skate Review Update. Showing the versatility and fun these skates offer.

Well, as promised, I have an update on the Skorpion Quadline Urban Street Skates. In fact, I have done a video which you can see at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYmRq2mU7H8. These skates really are very different from inline skates. But different is good! They are easier in some ways and harder in others. But I really do love the fact that they use the same muscles but in a different way so I alternate my skates daily to give me a more well rounded exercise regiment. I learned a new move and automatically assumed I could do it on my inline skates, and down I went. I was shocked! And then I came back to reality and realized that how you do moves on inline skates is not the same as how you do them on the quads. Now I know that I have to separate them in my mind and I like that because it keeps my mind sharp. And let me tell you folks, I can use all the tips and tricks I can find to keep my mind in check! :-)

Anyway, I hope you check out the video as I highly recommend you get a pair. You won’t regret it. Just click on the Skorpion Icon on my website or click the Skate.com icon and order them from there as well.

I will be checking out the Skorpion All Terrain Quads when I get them so stay tuned. These quads give you options other than just in the street or on sidewalks. Again, another form of exercise. I have a feeling they are going to be very challenging so stay tuned! Donna

I am offering to come to you to give a skating class. Read to see what is involved.

Hi Everybody! I have an idea that I want to share and see what you think. I know that there are a lot of areas that don’t have skate instructors and many people would really like a lesson before they venture out into the world of movement under their feet. So, I am thinking maybe I could be a traveling instructor. Sound good? Yes it does but there is “work” that will need to be done on your part. Oh…now it doesn’t sound so good, huh? Well maybe it won’t be that hard but in order for me to come to you, I need your help with the coordinating and arranging. I don’t know you yet so I don’t know that you need me. So, if you get enough friends and family together that are willing to share expenses to help get me there (or maybe you can do fund raisers), then I can come and give instructions. Sounds easy right? Not so fast. Now we need a place to do the class and that might mean getting approval from the owner of the location. It can be a parking lot, a park, a lot that is vacant, or maybe a business that is willing to allot some space for the class. If you can get these things done, I will come. Now here is my problem. I need enough money to cover the flight, hotel, if I need one, transportation to and from the airport to the hotel, and my pay. Flights are going up but hotel prices seem to be going down. I don’t have to stay in a 4 star hotel, just one that is clean and in a safe area. So all of these variables will determine the amount of money needed to get me there. Of course I will do my best to help you make it happen.

Now, for the size of the class, I would prefer no more than 10 people and actually more like 5 per class. If I need to do more than one class in a day, I don’t have a problem with that. In fact I would prefer it that way. Each class will be about 90 minutes and it will cover everything you need to know as a beginner from wearing your gear properly to learning to stride on skates to learning the proper way to stop. It will be mandatory that every person have a pair of skates and their safety gear which is a helmet, and knee, elbow and hand guards. No exceptions!

There is no limit to the possibilities. It can be for a school, a fitness center, a park, you name it. It will depend on the person or the organization that wants to put in the time to make it happen. Again, I will work with you the best I can because my mission is to help people learn how to skate the proper way.

And yes, this can be inline skating or roller skating. I can teach both at the same time because the skating form is the same, it is the stopping that is different and that I can differentiate when illustrating how to stop.

I will also consider travelling for private lessons.

So feel free to email me if this is something that you think you want to arrange at dmw@donnamariewebber.com. Lets make it work and get rolling! Donna

Understanding the different types of inline skates and the wheel sizes that go with them.

Many people don’t realize how diversified In line skates can be. You think you can buy an expensive pair of skates and they should be able to do pretty much everything you want – right? Well you couldn’t be further from the truth. In line skating is as diversified as any other sport. You have slalom skating, trick skating, recreation skating, extreme skating, and speed skating. I had a viewer who was having trouble deciding on which skate and wheel size to buy to suit his wants and needs. So he came to me for help. I am not an expert on the different types of skates yet, so I asked an expert, my instructor – Trish Alexander, and here is what she had to say. “Slalom skating should be done in about 76 or 74 mm wheels and yes Rollerblade Twister or SEBA skates are an excellent choice. However, Slalom skating requires a very short frame and rockered wheels; front and back are 72mm and two middle wheels are 76mm. 100mm wheels are for going straight, trail/speed skating. They are not a recreational skate. The frame is too long and rigid. Recreational skates generally have about 78-82mm wheels and are a good halfway to allow you to still trail skate and play around.” She did not mention Extreme skates as that is a whole new arena. One that I don’t normally cover and always refer to an Extreme skater expert.

So for those of you who are looking to buy new skates, it is important that you know how you plan to use them so you can make the right choice. However, if you already have skates that don’t seem to fit this criteria, and yet they seem to suit your needs just fine, don’t fret. It just means that you are able to work with what you have and now know why they don’t always do what you want them to do.

Today, I will be uploading a new video on a new product that I am trying that is actually not an in line skate. So if you are not a subscriber, please go to my www.youtube.com/donnamariewebber channel and hit the subscribe button so you will get all of my new videos to come. And I will be doing many more that will be fun and informative, so stay tuned! Donna

Do you have a problem with one or both of your feet falling outward when skating? Well, there is a name for this condition called Underpronation. Underpronation is when the outside of the foot makes the initial ground contact and does not allow the inside of the foot to make contact. The foot then pushes off from the outer toes to continue forward motion. This is usually common with people who have feet with high arches. This means the foot and ankle are not being used properly and puts added pressure on the lower legs that could cause issues at some point in time as the shock isn’t absorbed as efficiently. But there is help. Go to www.GoodFeet.com and click on the Store Locator tab to see if there is a store near you. I am not getting a dime to recommend this company. I am suggesting them because you can go in, get fitted and walk out with an arch support in hand. If you go to a podiatrist and get fitted for an arch support, it will usually take 3 weeks before you get them and will cost you hundreds of dollars. And there have been complaints that they are too hard and uncomfortable. With Good Feet, you can try them on and see how they feel before you buy them and there is no obligation. Good Feet arch supports start at $39. Since I broke my left heel 2 years ago, I have had some pronation issues. I plan to check them out and get myself one the next time I am in their area. I hope you check them out and do the same. Good luck and good comfort! Donna

A solution to feet falling inward with your skates.

Do you have a problem with one or both of your feet falling inward toward the ground when skating? Well, there is a name for this condition called Overpronation. Overpronation is when the outside of the heel makes the initial ground contact. However, the foot rolls inward more than the ideal fifteen percent of standard pronation. This means the foot and ankle have problems stabilizing the body, and shock isn’t absorbed as efficiently. At the end of the gait cycle, the front of the foot pushes off the ground using mainly the big toe and second toe, which then must do all the work.
Open your eyes and your heart and life will find you at every age.

Well, I am doing it – acting that is! Now if I could just find a paying role! :-) On April 3rd, I participated in another role but this time it was for a short film which is different from my last 2 roles since they were student films….I think. Anyway, I hope to have a copy of the short film in about 3 months. This is how it goes. You get fed, you get credit, and you get a copy of the short film. But I had a lot of fun and met new people and made a new friend, Ellie.

This new expereience and adventure is just another testament to show people that once you pass the 50’s age, you don’t have to stop growing or stop trying new things. At first, I thought maybe I was experiencing a mid life crisis. But the truth is that I am ready and more confident to try new things more so now then I have ever been in my entire life. I have always been adventurous in experiencing new things, but I was reluctant to push myself to do new things and there really is a difference. We can see the world but we have to push ourselves to try new things that we thought we would never like or be able to do. For instance, I was always camera shy. You aren’t going to find a lot of pictures of me throughout my life. Now, at 53, I’ve had a photo shoot, I have 27 videos on YouTube, and I have done 2 acting roles and a music video!

I can honestly say that one thing I have truly learned in my life is to never say never. Life has a way of bringing things to you that you never thought in a million years would be of interest to you. And the best part is that you find yourself loving it. So open your eyes to what life offers you and take the opportunities to try new things and experience life. If you don’t do well at one thing, at least you tried it. New experiences are there if you open your eyes and your heart. Life will then come find you….. Donna
